Wedding Planning Frenzy!!: Wedding Dress Edition
WEDDING PLANNING FRENZY!!
Wedding Dress Edition
After getting engaged on Christmas Day and one year of college behind me, I finally have time to plan our wedding... right??
I absolutely L💗VE wedding dress shopping. That fact in itself is amazing because I was completely stressed about my first appointment. I had millions of thoughts swarming around in my head but, "don't worry, be happy(!)." I have a few gown shopping tips for future brides/ bride teams:
My Stylist |
- Small wedding boutiques almost always have the best customer service. Make friends with your stylist! By the end of the day, they'll know more about you than most people do anyway.
- Do NOT go with a plan! You won't stick to it!. Make your appointments, search a few ideas, and try on anything that catches your eye! You never know what you might like. P.S. Budgets are HEALTHY.
- Yes, it is your dream day and yes, you want to look like a princess, but do remember to think practically. Fantasizing is still encouraged, just make sure you are comfortable on your wedding gown choice.
- Take people with you who are supportive and not super opinionated... too many opinions cause stress. End of story.
- Try on desired accessories such as veils, flower crowns, pearls, etc. Sometimes these accessories complete the dress.
- Do not be discouraged! You most likely will not find your dream dress immediately and that is normal! You can always go make another appointment!
- Plan to buy your dress 4-6 months before your wedding!!!!! This is super important. Some designer companies take 3 weeks off in January for Chinese New Years so this could delay shipping. Plus, you want to save time for alterations etc.
